A profile of PenbedwShooting in North Wales at it's best!
This is the home of the famous Penbedw Hall which sadly had to be demolished in 1958. The estate was once owned by the Digby family. Sir Edward (Everard) Digby was one of the co-conspiritors in the "Gunpowder Plot", he lost his head for his troubles! The 3000 acre estate is now in the hands of Captain Nicholas Archdale and his sons Edward and Christopher, the runni ng of the estate has now passed on to Edward and Christopher. Together they organize top simulated clay days during the closed season. We have over twenty 20 pheasant drives to choose from including Bracken Bank, Keepers, Plas Yw, Penbedw-Uchaf, to name but a few. All show sparking good pheasants; Plas Yw has often been described as of the best in the country! To give an idea, the average
'kills to shots'
ratio for the whole shoot is rarely better than 4 for 1 with a good team! One or two more drives before going into our cosy lunch room where good food and hospitality abound. After lunch there can be up to two more drives to test you. Then back for tea and 'other' refreshments before your trip home.
